  1. Divorce hurts, how you behave during the divorce hurts most.
  2. They don’t need to know the details of why your marriage didn’t work out.
  3. It’s not fair to take your anger out on them.
  4. It’s not their job to make you feel better.
  5. Don’t make your divorce about them.
  6. Your feelings may have changed toward the opposing parent but their feelings toward him/her remains the same.
  7. They are tired of hearing about how poorly you were treated.
  8. They can’t move beyond the pain until you do.
  9. Don’t use them as a weapon to punish the opposing parent.
  10. They are both tougher and more vulnerable that you think they are.
